MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Jun 19 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + echelle Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate, deep red sunset Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A pretty nice night; mostly clear, though with some high smoke around and occasional broken cloud. Seeing was generally pretty decent, despite it being very hot - the night started out around 85 F and ended up around 80. The telescope is not pointing well at high dec, and could use a pointing model tuneup, though that's best performed after the refit. The dome worked well. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Jun 20 [5:05:48]
