MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Mar 28 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 10.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds High Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Very nice dark night, pretty much entirely clear. Started out quite windy but winds diminished with time. Seeing rather variable. No technical problems, except that the instrument rotator momentarily flashed a nonsensical value (hundreds of degees); cured by rotating back toward zero and then trying again. This is a known, highly intermittent problem. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Mar 29 [6:16:48]
