MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Mar 29 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + echelle Worked for 10.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Really beautiful night. There was cirrus before sunset, but it appeared clear all night - nothing obvious on the all-sky camera. The big story was the seeing, which was unusually good. Ambient temperature warmed through the night, and the primary remained a degree or two below ambient; furthermore, the winds died down to pretty much nothing. Dome was off by a degree at the end of the night. The yellow light in the dome auto-enable button doesn't come on when I push it (after re-setting dome azimuth on TCS). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Mar 30 [6:11:03]
