MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 May 28 Observer(s): Halpern, Cho, Collver Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Another good night. Getting useful images at airmass 3. Beats travelling to Chile. This time we used V,R,I filters, which seem to be parfocal, unlike the SDSS g, r, i, from a couple of nights ago. I would be interested to hear if anybody has had a similar experience with the SDSS filters not being parfocal. The mirror AC control is flaky, as is well known. I couldn't get any cooling all day yesterday despite multiple reboots and debug. Finally, it seems to be putting out cold air now. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 May 29 [5:24:41]
