MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Nov 04 Observer(s): Douglas, Nunez, Halpern Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 3 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 0500 until 1300. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable, High humidity End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable, High Humidity Observing Summary: It was partly cloudy at sunset, but we were able to open not long after. We got a few hours of data before the humidity got too high and we shut down. The humidity stayed up so we never re-opened. We ran into a couple of issues - the guider froze up a few times, a mirror a/c duct/tube ripped (this may have been caused when we got too close to the pole; that's at least when we noticed it), and the telescope ran away again, heading West when it was supposed to slew East. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Nov 5 [3:24:07]
