MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Sep 16 Observer(s): Rupert Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, High humidity End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: The night was mostly good. At around 10:30, I attempted to point at an object with Dec -32. The telescope got within a degree before it got stuck. I was unable to move the telescope with the handpaddle and xtcs. Luckily, Eric was still awake and we were able to sort it out by power cycling the tcs switch panel. Humidity got up to 86% around 1, but it dropped not long after. About that time I had to help Jules at the 1.3, which you can read in his report. After that the night was problem-free. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Sep 17 [6:03:15]
