MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Dec 14 Observer(s): Thorstensen, Weil and students Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 4 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Cloudy night with occasional clear patches going overhead, which persisted long enough to get some useful data. Seeing was not bad when it wasn't cloudy, and winds were light. We tried the focus-following feature; after one of the closures, when we re-opened the focus had changed by +150 or so and the telescope was out of focus. I think the user interface might use a little work, and intend to suggest changes to Damon. Other than that, no problems worth noting. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Dec 15 [4:52:39]
