MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Feb 10 Observer(s): Douglas, Weaver, Carmichael Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: OSMOS/R No Observing (see comments below) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Observing Summary: Fairly heavy cirrus moved in before sunset; due to that and a thick haze to the west we waited to open. By the end of twilight there was indeed significant dust visible in a flashlight beam, and the beam itself was visible illuminating the dust for at least 3-4 feet. Eventually the clouds cleared but the dust continued, then the dust died down but the clouds came back. So we never opened. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Feb 11 [5:31:59]
