MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Mar 13 Observer(s): David Schiminovich + Observational Astronomy Class Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 2 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Overcast, Winds Calm End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Weather was poor with threatening clouds. We did open briefly when Kitt Peak domes opened but that clearing was relatively short-lived. Not much significant data collection. One note is that at some point we were unsure whether the telescope was pointing at the desired target field. While we speculated that the absence of a target was probably due to the thick clouds coming in, but we weren't able to find even bright stars. Just wanted to alert you to the possibility that some settings in the TCS may be off for some reason. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Mar 14 [10:47:08]
