MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Mar 14 Observer(s): Ryan Chornock Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: OSMOS/B No Observing (see comments below) Bad weather most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity all night. Observing Summary: A frustrating and marginal night. I opened on time and conditions were OK, with good seeing, but with some clouds around. About an hour after sunset, the humidity spiked up and the combination with some low dark clouds led me to close up around 8:30PM. The humidity for the rest of the night hovered right around the limit of 80 percent for the 4K, varying between 75-90 percent. I tried opening up again during a dip in the humidity shortly after midnight, but some low clouds arrived and prevented any observations. It was clear for big chunks of the second half of the night. In retrospect, there was a window around 3AM where I maybe could have gotten a spectrum, but the humidity then rose back up to 80 percent. It is now 5am and the low clouds have returned as the humidity has gone up to 87 percent, so I'm calling it a night. I didn't get much useful data. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Mar 15 [5:01:31]
