MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Nov 16 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle ccd Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing <1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing <1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A really beautiful night, almost perfectly clear with near-calm winds and very good seeing (mirror a bit below ambient). The automatic focus compensation (with the truss temp as the controller) worked very well. Seeing was better than average. One minor glitch -- the guider X-motion stage was not working at the start of the night; recovered by cycling power on the MIS control box and restarting xmis2. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Nov 18 [0:28:26] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 2.4m telescope observing report for 2018 Nov 16
