MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Sep 03 Observer(s): Rupert Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 6.5 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Rain from start until 9:30. Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The night started off with another storm and high humidity. Went through the lightning shutdown procedure. Didn't last too long, though. Started opening up around 9:30, but when I did the North mirror cover got caught on the center baffle. Had to nudge the baffle to free the mirror cover. Once I did though I was able to open and close the covers without issue. The humidity flirted with the observing limit for much of the night. Then at around 4 it gradually went over it and I closed for what turned out to be the rest of the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Sep 4 [5:09:51]
