MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2019 Aug 27 Observer(s): Fesen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 0.85 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 0.95 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Seeing was very good throughout much of the night. Eric's telescope collimation work has paid off, yielding several 0.85 arcsec image taken in several different fields. However, the problem from last night has persisted (see Trouble Report). The problem is that Prospero/OSMOS images look weak, i.e., they are missing much of the data. Images look like short exposure (~10-20 sec) despite being much longer (100 - 1200 s). Found that rebooting the IE and restarting Prospero fixed the problem as long as I didn't move the telescope (!?). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2019 Aug 28 [6:17:55]
