MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2019 Jan 18 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 5 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 8 PM until 2:30 . Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 4-5 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: The night looked good starting out, but then about an hour after twilight the humidity shot up and fog was scudding over the observatory maybe a couple hundred feet up. Closed quickly; fog dissipated fairly soon, but humidity was well above limit until about 2:30 AM, when it started falling rapidly. Opened a bit after that, to find that the windy and cold conditions were producing some almost comically poor seeing. Worked on bright targets. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2019 Jan 19 [7:20:37]
