MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2019 Jan 21 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 7 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 19:00 until 21:30. Beg: Overcast, Winds High Mid: Seeing 2-3 arcsec, Clear, Winds High End: Seeing 2-3 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: Started out nicely but once again ambushed by fast moving low cloud just after the start. This time then didn't lower and turn into fog but rather blew out by 9:30, at which time I reopened to find poor seeing in the high wind and dropping temperatures. I was able to get some useful observations and tie up some loose ends on this last night of the run, though! Closed a bit early to get to the airport (and because the conditions were pretty mediocre with poor seeing, high wind, and bright moon). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2019 Jan 22 [4:34:50]
