MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2019 Mar 09 Observer(s): Ryan Chornock, Laura Herzog Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Completely overcast at sunset. By about 7:30PM, stars were visible, so we opened. For the first hour or so after that, it was impossible to take long exposures with the rapidly varying clouds, but things improved. We got about 5 decent hours in with good seeing and on-and-off light clouds before conditions became too bad to observe again around 2am. The wind started picking up after midnight. I closed up and filled the dewars around 3am, as it was overcast and the satellite images did not give any hope. In total, we were open for about 7 hours, but not all of it was useful. One reboot of the MIS (no time lost) when the guide stage became stuck again, but otherwise no problems. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2019 Mar 10 [7:50:48]
