MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2019 Mar 14 Observer(s): Rupert Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 3.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, Unstable Seeing Mid: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Seeing was terrible to start. I was still able to get decent spectroscopy data, anyway. Conditions improved as the night went on. When sending the telescope home at the end of the night, it seemed to get stuck somehow. It would make tiny jumps (I believe in RA) to try to get back. I stopped the slew and tried again and it moved back to zenith normally. It seemed (again, I think in RA) to whine a little bit. I recall hearing the noise several times throughout the night, but didn't know what it was until closing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2019 Mar 15 [6:27:50]
