MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Jun 15 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS` Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2-ish arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A surprise storm in the afternoon blew out completely by evening. Eventually managed to get everything focused etc. -- 18 months away made me a little rusty! -- and got some good data. The night was mostly clear though not photometric, with some high cloud building in toward dawn. The seeing ranged from OK to fairly poor, but was never wretched. I was delighted to be observing again, and pleasantly surprised at how quickly it came back. The telescope did bang, but I didn't keep an exact count. I'd say at least a half-dozen times. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Jun 16 [5:46:53]
