MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 May 18 Observer(s): Melso/Sitaram Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: CHaS Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Adjusted CHaS optical shimming to improve focus and went on-sky. Observed various galaxy and nebulae targets throughout the night and performed throughput tests. We experienced a period where the RA stopped responding. Slew would not complete and the RA current looked high. It resumed responding after a few attempted slews (after changing to a different declination). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 May 19 [4:04:37]
