MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 May 26 Observer(s): Melso/Sitaram Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: CHaS Worked for 4 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 8 until 12. Beg: Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The weather was overcast for the first half of the night. We opened after midnight and observed CHaS targets for the second half of the night. The guider is working again and we are observing in closed loop. The only problem is that the guide probe seemed to get stuck a few times over the course of the night. It would stop responding to move commands and the x, y position would freeze. We were able to reset it (following the error log solutions) by power cycling the MIS in the computer room and restarting the xmis software.
