MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Nov 01 Observer(s): Rupert Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Clouds hung around all night but didn't affect observations for the most part. On two occasions I caught the telescope focus creeping up. The first time I was unable to move the focus by any means. Decided I would home everything and restart the TCS computer and chassis.. I had stowed the telescope and homed the dome by the time the focus responded to the hand paddle. Was able to send it to a value through the TCS as well. It had crept up 70 units. The second time it crept up 10 units but I was able to send it back to the original value no problem. Probably just a transient issue. Didn't really cost me that much time. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Nov 2 [6:45:14]
