MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Sep 23 Observer(s): Rupert Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: A decent night overall. Noticed a big (likely) spot of dust during evening twilight. Will want to blow that off tomorrow. Lost connection to the TCS. First noticed that the focus wouldn't move, then that the MDM TCS Agent window said the link was down. Closed and restarted all the telescope control windows on the workstation and the TCS program and got back on sky relatively quickly. Had to tighten the cam on the RA drive to stop the guide star from drifting. Also a quick fix. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Sep 24 [5:09:34]
