MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2023 Oct 15 Observer(s): M. Sitaram and M. Messere Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: CHaS Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Nice weather tonight. We collected lots of great data on our galaxy targets and also some sky data for future subtraction. Telescope and instrument mostly performed well, though we did have a slight issue around 9 PM where the dome did not track properly with the telescope. Slewing to zenith, homing the dome, and turning it off and on again did the trick. Also, the west mirror cover did not open with the others at the start of the night though slewing east fixed this. Both issues were easily fixable and didn't eat up too much observing time. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2023 Oct 16 [6:05:33]
