MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2023 Oct 31 Observer(s): Aylin Garcia Soto Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 6 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The purpose of tonight was to take the time off the telescope and do what Eric suggested of playing around with the setup (disp, filter) of OSMOS to see if I could remove some of the bad fringing over 850 nm. I started at 22:48 after the Guide probe kept losing the guide star. The object was around 1.5 airmass but it did have a dec -15d so it could be due to that as well. Same thing happened a few days ago with the same star. Closed around 1am and intended to reopened around 4am to get data on a later rising star but overslept. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2023 Nov 1 [8:32:57]
