MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2023 Sep 13 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Beautiful most of the night, but with clouds for a while around 10-11 PM or so, and then an interval of high humidity - which then went away, with the RH going down into the 20s. I needed to quit and restart JSkyCalc, because it wasn't seeing the telescope -- Eric thought it probably lost contact during a mandatory Windows update on the TCS (ugh). This somehow froze Prospero, and I had some trouble getting prospero going again because of unfamiliarity, but it's fine now. This was the best night of the last week or so -- for some nights now I've been battling really sketchy conditions. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2023 Sep 14 [6:01:12]
