MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2024 Feb 14 Observer(s): Aylin Garcia Soto, Will Waalkes Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Everything technically works, however when we try to run a data acquisition for guiding, we get unreasonable dX values over 1000 and 2000. We tried changing the ROI, restarting the mis gui, changing the guide star multiple times to familiarize ourselves with the field of view and to make sure we are on correct guide star. We even tried changing the option in the jskycalc window from field center to inner slit ,etc and those didn't work either. We have used the method of changing dX and dY by -/+999 in the mis gui before we start guiding, but also we tried with just moving the telescope with the paddle. We also tried to look at different targets, one brighter with many options for bright guide stars and a dimmer option. Nothing worked :( ------------------------------ Submitted on 2024 Feb 15 [0:00:11]
