MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2024 Jan 08

Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Clear, Winds Calm
   Mid: Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Clear weather. Lost 1.5-2 hours in the beginning of the night because mirror covers 
did not open when commanded from GUI -- eventually with Eric's help we managed to
open them. Collected ~4 hours of data before there was a failure of the HA smart motor 
encoder causing the telescope to slew to the horizon limit and ending observing for the 
night (problem detailed in trouble report).
