MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2024 Mar 30 Observer(s): Nunez, Lawsky Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: OSMOS 4k Worked for 5.5 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Clear, Winds High Mid: Clear, Winds High End: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds High Observing Summary: Clear skies prevailed during most of the night. Winds were strong (sustained ~20mph and 30+mph gusts) throughout the night. Seeing was awful, which made guiding difficult. Humidity remained stable at ~50% throughout the night, but at around 1:30am it started to slowly creep up. Then suddenly, it went from ~ 75% to 85% in a matter of a few minutes, and ground level thick clouds rolled in. We rushed to close the telescope and informed the 1.3m observer when we did. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2024 Mar 31 [2:45:07]
