MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2025 Jul 01 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 0.7 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Quite cloudy and a bit unstable early, but it dissipated to nothing but patchy high cloud which remained all night. KPNO was closed due to dust, which again didn't seem that bad to me, so opened briefly in an especially clear interval just after midnight. This persisted long enough to get a few nice spectra, but then guide star disappeared and the party was over. The sky was touch-and-go for the rest of the night, but never good enough to try to work; Kitt Peak's closure put a thumb on the scales to keep me closed. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2025 Jul 2 [4:22:36]
