MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2025 May 10 Observer(s): Oey, Astro 461 Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: CCDS Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm, Dust Observing Summary: The guider still is not working. I was hoping to be able to find the GS on the edge of the field, but now it's not showing up at all. Also the pointing was way off, even though we re-initialized the pointing on bright stars. It finally seemed that it was not retaining the position of the star in the Next object field -- when revising the position, the coords in Next object also changed therefore when updating the tel coords, nothing changed. Maybe this is normal, but it's not mentioned in the documentation. Unfortunately we were closed by dust before we were able to fully test our new pointing. The toilet in Room 1 has broken. It is not filling with water, and it doesn't seem to be due to a leak, i.e., it is not continuously running (which is good). The occupants are flushing by dumping in water by hand. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2025 May 11 [4:52:27]
