MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2025 Oct 21 Observer(s): Jiangtao Li, Haikun Xue, Junle Wang Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 00:30 until 7:00. Beg: Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Still cannot find the guiding star even after adding 200 offset in x direction. It may be a problem that the x position of the guide camera does not move. We tried a method to select a guide star from JSkyCalc with small x values (on the left) and move the guide scope manually to the south. We successfully found the guide star of one object, but didn't test this method for other objects because of the weather. Another problem is the sudden jump of the telescope pointing (in the W-E direction for about 15 arcsec) near the meridian. This appears twice for one object located near the meridian. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2025 Oct 22 [1:22:30]
