MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2025 Sep 15 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 6 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Overcast, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Pretty clear at start, with fair-weather cumulus dissipating, and got several good hours. Around 11 clouds rolled in -- apparently a backwash from a system near the AZ/NM/Mexico border. I soldiered on for a while getting nothing, and closed around midnight. However I had a critical morning target so I kept an eye on things and the clouds started to break up around 3, so I opened at 3:30 and miraculously the part of the sky with my target stayed clear. By dawn conditions were much better. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2025 Sep 16 [6:27:44]
