MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2026 Jan 08 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 3 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from start until 2:30. Beg: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds High Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: The night started with a rain squall that evidently dropped a dusting of snow at the end. By about 1:30 it was clear, and by 2:30 the humidity had dropped below the limit, so I opened. The dome shutter made a cracking sound as it started to move, presumably because it had iced up, but it opened without incident and nothing fell off it. I worked normally until about 5:30, and then the dome rotation froze and I stopped. The trouble report has more. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2026 Jan 9 [6:22:05]
