MDM Trouble Report for 2001 Feb 1 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Lepine, De Marco (Columbia) Instrument: MkIII Problem(s) Encountered: As described in the night report, we experienced a few problems at the beginning and end of the night with the dome position. At the beginning of the night the dome did not follow the telescope, while at the end of the night the dome did not return naturally to its sleep position. At the start of the night it was realised that the yellow button was off, which probably was the casue of the dome not moving. Switching it on fixed the problem. At the end of the night we had to switch the yellow button off and manually bring the dome to its rest position at angle 320. We suspect that the flat lamp does not work since we cannot obtain any counts. The comp lamps work, though, which convinced us that we are carrying out the procedure correctly. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Feb 1 [7:40:23]
