MDM Trouble Report for 2001 Feb 5

Instrument: Mk III spectrograph

Problem(s) Encountered:
Had problems with the guiding. When guiding was on, it seemed
at some time that the scope was not guiding at all. On several 
occasions the guiding system was  stuck  displaying on and on the
same line of output on the guider screen, instead of updating.
At other times, the scope would move erratically, sending the
guide star off the box. This appeared to occur especially with the
scope close to zenith.

Guiding was so bad that I decided to guide manually for the second
half of the night.
