MDM Trouble Report for 2001 Jan 14

Problem(s) Encountered:
The numbers on the focus indicator on the telescope control 
panel did not change when the focus was changed.  This made 
focusing very hard.  There was no way to know how many steps 
'in' or 'out' to take in order to obtain the best focusing.  We 
therefore had to improve the focus as best we could by using the
guider monitor,  then taking an exposure, looking at it and 
guessing which wasy the focus neeeded to go.  Then we took 
another exposure, etc.
This was very time consuming and took up about half an hour last
night, but may take longer in general.
