MDM Trouble Report for 2001 May 6

Problems with guiding

I began the pc guider with the same parameters as the night
before (except for the rotator angle which I updated), and
then started the guider.  Star drifted from the box. 

I then checked all my parameters, restarted the pc guider computer 
to no avail.  I then changed the rotator angle to zero degrees
and played around with the guide rates.  I used a value of
4 for both the RA and DEC guide rates.  Guiding seemed to go
okay for a bit, but eventually the star drifted from the box.

Also, the telescope, ie. the base where the instrument is, is 
quite noisy, making buzzing and percolating sounds.  These sounds 
started at about 6:30pm.
