MDM Trouble Report for 2002 Feb 1

Telescope: 1.3m
Observer(s): Burke & DePoy (OSU)
Instrument: Echelle

Problem(s) Encountered:
Set N & S speed sporadically doesn't work, 
on both the control room paddle and telescope control console 
(didn't try telescope paddle).  
Seems to occur begining at modest airmass >1.4.
Guide and slew speeds in N & S directions are unaffected.
After large movements in the E & W direction, 
the Set N & S speed sometimes begins working again.  
Then it will fail to work later.
This problem doesn't occur for airmass < 1.4
