MDM Trouble Report for 2002 Mar 21

Problem(s) Encountered:
We're having a problem with taking spectra:

We can take lamp spectra and we can see stars in
the slit viewer, but when we take spectra of stars the signal is really
faint,  just barely above the noise on the chip.  We can see a faint
stripe on the image where the star is, but there are just very few counts.

Possible solutions?  Something blocking between the slit and the ccd, 
also the gain on the chip is set wrong but Rick Pogge should be looking into that.
