MDM Trouble Report for 2002 Jun 6

Problem(s) Encountered:
When using the instrument rotator, the rotator angle
suddenly lept from something like 5 degrees to something
like -663 degrees. I put the rotator in reverse and it seemed
to go back to 5 degrees and I did not have a repeat of this
problem during the night. Another, related, problem is that
the monitor in the dome which displays the TCS information
seems to have serious problems. It is so illegible that it
is nearly impossible to read the rotator angle from the dome.
I tried changing the brightness and horizontal/vertical holds
but was unable to make the monitor even moderately legible.
