MDM Trouble Report for 2003 Sep 1 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Crotts (Columbia) Instrument: 8K Problem(s) Encountered: Two problems, with only minor impact on this run: 1) There is RF pickup in some of the 8K's CCDs. CCD 05 is RF noise dominated. CCDs 03, 06 and 07 show significant RF noise at or below read noise level. Bob and I turned off every electronic device at the 1.3-meter we could except those needed to run 8K and problem persisted unchanged. 2) Telescope occasionally fails to respond to Dec buttons on hand paddle in control room. When this happens, usually North will not work while South does, or vice versa. By moving in the working direction at set rate, one can usually cause the other direction to start responding when its button is then pushed. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Sep 2 [5:38:44]
