MDM Trouble Report for 2003 Apr 27

Problem(s) Encountered:
More problems with the mirror covers.  The covers opened in the correct order, however, the east and west covers opened about 2 minutes later than the north and south covers.

We slewed the telescope north to verify that the west petal was not on the north and south petals as it was yesterday.  After seeing that the covers were closed correctly, we flipped the switch and attempted to open the covers.  The north and south covers opened immediately while the east and west ones did nothing.  We walked from the control room out into the dome and stared at the telescope for a minute before the west and east petals gently opened.

We pointed the telescope a few hours east when closing the covers to try and ensure that they closed in the correct order.  It appears that they did.
