MDM Trouble Report for 2003 Oct 1

Problem(s) Encountered:
At a little after 11 PM, just after completing an exposure,
Chichon suddenly printed a message saying 
 panic: asynchronous memory failure . The computer the proceeded
to reboot and conduct assorted memory tests. There were some 
messages about missing files and mismatched file blocks, but
eventually the computer managed to come completely back up.
I brought up new ccdcom, xtcs and xmis windows and reinitialized
everything. Chichon then appeared to function normally for the
remainder of the evening.

A second, minor, problem I encountered was when I put on the
auto-dome at the beginning of the evening. Despite the fact
that the silver switch on the TCS controlling the auto-dome
was flipped to ON, the auto-dome function did not engage. By
rattling the switch I was able to get the auto-dome to flicker
on and off, and eventually to stick in the on position. Once
I got it on, it remained on for the remainder of the evening.
