MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Jan 26

Problem(s) Encountered:
Could not communicate with 2nd (slave) board when telescope was greater than 1.6 airmass in the West (current dec was +11).  Even  following final rescue procedure with a reboot of etna did not resume communication.  Communication board LED in back of etna was not lit when telescope was > 1.6 airmass.  Problem was resolved as soon as telescope was moved to zenith.  There is a lot of play on the thin black connecting wire on the back of instrument between slave and master.  Especially where it connects to the master.  I need to be able to observe at this location and higher airmasses.
