MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Mar 31

Problem(s) Encountered:
Same problem as last night.

Flats/biases all fine.

Began having trouble after moving to first object around 19:50
(12 56 +26, hour angle: -4:58.)

Most of these images had severe horizontal streaking (same 
appearance as last night.)

Flipped off ccd power in dome, off fiber optics interface in 
computer room, shutdown tambora.  rebooted, turned on fiber optics,
on ccd power in dome  (in that order.)

On the second attempt of that sequence, got communication back.

Trouble again at 22:10 (10 18 +71, HA ~ 1.)  Every ~ 10 images 
were bad.  Stopped on object and moved to new target (16 37 -00;  
I think HA was about 1.)

Trouble again at 01:30.  Flipped off/on fiber optics interface; 
no improvement.  Did entire sequence (ccd in dome, fiber optics, 
tambora reboot) .. worked.

By 2:17 we were running again, and problem has not recurred.

Please be sure to see Aaron Farber about this, since starting
tomorrow he will be alone at the 1.3m (Eve Armstrong will move 
to the 2.4m.)
