MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Nov 1

Problem(s) Encountered:
Noticed that afternoon biases had substantial structure 
& extra counts compared with previous nights.  Structure was also present during 
test biases at night with dome lights on, even with hatch closed.  Applied much electrical
tape, removed some but not all of  leak .  Taped over LEDs as well.
Carried on through night hoping light-leak w/ dome lights off is not bad.
Lost 2.5hrs trying to diagnose/cure the problem, but the light leak still appears to
be there.

Also noticed several times during the night that the North slew
wouldn't engage -- sounded like grinding of gears.  Needed several attempts
with slew button before North slew would work.  Maybe happened 1/10 of the
time.  Other slew directions were fine.
