MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Nov 19 Telescope: 1.3m Observer(s): Sheets (Dartmouth) Instrument: Mark III + Templeton Problem(s) Encountered: I noticed early in the night that sometimes an odd bright patch would occur in the field after I took a comparison and moved the mirror back out. Not sure if this was due to the gain not fading down before the lamps came on, or if it was something with the finder mirror. Moving the mirror back in, then out again seemed to work for a time. At the end of the night, about 6:10am, when I tried to find a flux standard, I noticed the large, bright spot like I saw last June, and as I set to the west, I saw what looked like a bright double star move into the field. But as I continued to set west, one star moved up the screen, and the other moved down the screen, until the lower one moved off screen. The other star vanished then as well. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Nov 19 [6:40:15]
