MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Dec 5 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Diane Paulson (Michigan) Instrument: 8k Problem(s) Encountered: I noticed yesterday that the vacuum was not holding for 14 hours as it had the previous nights. The pressure was up to about 15 mTorr after 14 hours. I cooled it down and topped it off 2 hours afterward. When I got up to fill it 12 hours later, it had gone back up to 20 mTorr! I again cooled it down. I am doing a fill each 8 hours just to be sure. Can you check the vacuum or possibly pump it down again so that it holds for 12+ hours so that I don't have to interrupt any observing (weather permitting) to fill? Thanks! ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Dec 6 [0:19:58]
