MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Jul 1 Telescope: 2.4m Observer(s): Marshall (OSU) Instrument: CCDS Problem(s) Encountered: I will repeat my summary from the nightly report: The only problem I had was with the pointing of the telescope: at certain ha and decs (most noticeably at ha=0 and dec=-15) the telescope had a huge amount of E-W wobble (about an arcmin) and in a few cases I couldn't get it to stay pointed at the target long enough to take an image. Also, on almost every target (regardless of location in the sky) the telescope jerks the star W out of the slit (by only a few arcsecs) after it is positioned with the hand paddle, but then calms down once the guider is turned on. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Jul 2 [4:18:41]
