MDM Trouble Report for 2004 Jul 9

Problem(s) Encountered:
Three or four times the telescope tracking suddenly slipped
by a few arcseconds.  But it only lasted for a minute or two.
The worst case was at HA -0h45', Decl. +61h14', where it
slipped by about an arcminute for a couple of minutes,
but then behaved after that.  On the whole the tracking seems
to need some assistance to keep up.  I found it necessary to
set the tracking rate to 15.015 or 15.02 all night, whereas the
previous night it was happy at 15.002.  Fortunately, no
significant time was lost and the telescope performed well
otherwise.
